Biodegradable plastic and packaging is a modern necessity for our ever-endangered environment. Unfortunately, few solutions manufacturers are able to accommodate small, medium and large firms that require ever-changing supplies. More importantly, few biodegradable plastic packaging solutions are able to preserve the intended shelf life of the treated product.

 

Degradation theory of Bioplast is that, finished products made from Bioplast resins gradually disintegrate for being decomposted by microbes after being disposal, become carbon dioxide, water, minerals and other harmless residues. No toxic is created during this process and fully environmental.

 

Bioplast process takes organic compounds, mixed with nutrients, a carrier resin to enable the biodegradation of polymers.

 

After beign disposal, bioplast's combination of organic compounds and nutrients, attract colonies of microorganisms that metabolize and neutralize the plastic through intense quorum sensing rapidly increasing the timeframe of biodegradation.

 

However, finished products made from bioplast are stable on shelf, can be kept at least 18 months without any degradation. Just make sure products are kept dry, being protected from moisture and sunshine. The above 2 factors make our product so unique. 

 

Almost everyone knows that plastics are called “synthetic” and that they don’t break down easily in the environment, but why? Plastics are made from organic compounds called monomers. What makes them special and useful is that scientists found a way to combine monomers into long molecular chains, called polymers. Polymers do not exist in nature, and this is what makes plastic so useful. But it also creates a problem.As a result, regular plastic is not easily biodegradable and will last in the environment for centuries, maybe forever.

 

For manufacturers, bioplast is simple to use. Bioplast has 2 types of bioplast starch resin: compostable type, and biodegradable type.

 

For the compostable type, model name is BOR-Q-805F,manufactures can produce by this model alone into films or bags. It can be 100% decomposed within 90 days after being disposal, in microbial environment. (Got ASTM D  6400, EN13432 certificates)

 

For the biodegradable type, including BOR-Z series and master batchs. (In compliance with ISO 14855:2000)

 

Manufactures can use the BOR-Z series biodegradable bioplast starch resin alone to produce into films, bags, injection products and thermoforming products. More than 46% will be decomposed within 100 days after being disposal, in microbial environment. And gradually be fully disintegrated within 2 or 3 years.

 

When it comes to master batch, they're for film blowing or can be mix PP for injection moulding.. Manufactures can mix as high as 50% of the master batch together with the PE or PP. In the bags or films with bioplast master batch,after being disposal,they become disintegrated into small pieces,the part of master batch would be biodegraded itself.And help the part of PE/PP break into small pieces,making it easier to degrade.

 

This biodegradation process can take place aerobically (where there is oxygen, such as in a compost facility) or anaerobically (where there is no oxygen, such as in a sealed landfill). It can take place with or without the presence of light, heat or moisture.

 

Bioplast's technology differs from other "degradable plastics" emerging in the market today. Many of these products use catalysts which are heated up at variable rates. These products do not attract microbial communities to the plastic in order to break down the polymer's molecular structure, but rather are broken down by light, heat, mechanical stress and moisture. This can take ages depending on the polymer's weight and mass.

 

Other products are starch based plastic substitutes that simply do not have the same superior characteristics of plastics.
